Kobe City University of Foreign Studies is a public foreign language university with a history spanning over 70 years. Its mission is to cultivate "active global citizens" who can thrive on the international stage. This is achieved by fostering advanced proficiency in their chosen language of specialization, deep knowledge of the culture and society behind it, and multifaceted thinking skills developed through studies in diverse fields such as language and literature, law and politics, economics and management, and culture, as well as by instilling collaborative skills based on understanding others. In its graduate programs, guided by the educational philosophy of "providing graduate education open to the world and promoting international academic exchange," the university hosts approximately 100 international students from various countries.
